S Class - Electrical Issues?

I'm new to MB World and planning to purchaser a 2009 S550; However, when I contacted a MB master mechanic, he strongly advised that I stay away from the S class due to broad range of electrical issues. He suggested any year ranging from 2016 - 2018. I thought I would ask the advice of others who may know more about his strong counsel against buying this 2009 S550 with 42,000 miles. Thank you for taking the time to share.

Try asking in the W221 section of the site where owners can give you their input.
