CPO Warranty vs 3rd Party

I'm about to purchase a CPO 2017 GLE 350 with very low mileage, 11k. The dealership has 3rd party warranties with varying years/miles available such as 5yr/60k bumper-to-bumper for about $2,500. However, they're saying that if I were to purchase the 3rd party warranty, the CPO warranty would no longer be in effect. Is this correct? Would it make more sense for me to revisit the warranty issue when the 1yr CPO warranty is almost up? Should I go for extending the CPO instead? Was quoted ~$3.8k to extend the CPO for an additional 2 years.

Thanks in advance!

1. No it is not correct.

2. I understand you have low miles, but $2,500 sounds too low for legitimate warranty coverage, what is the name of the 3rd party warranty?

Actually I confirmed it's about $2900 for 60 month, 48k miles. The company is called total care auto.

Hmmm... never heard of them, and that is not something I say often having been doing this for about 3 years.

Call Jeff Jackson at MB Louisville. Mercedes 2yr extended CPO through him is a couple hundred less than the quote you got for the 3rd party warranty. Plus CPO extension is for unlimited miles for a total of 3 yrs.
