W211 Tailgate settings in STAR
E320 CDI Estate. ‘53 plate W211
Can the rate at which the rear closes be adjusted in Star? I’ve fitted new gas struts and a new rheostat. All genuine Mercedes parts. The hatch was playing up, sometimes locking, sometimes not closing, sometimes closing correctly until the last few inches and at that point dropping like a stone.
Checking the rheostat with a good old fashioned AVO, there was a point at which it went open circuit.
Pig to change, headliner out job, so did the gas struts at the same time.
Then I discovered the slam that was occurring had damaged the lock switch assembly. Easy fix and it now closes as intended, but just a bit too quick for my liking….don’t want the switch assembly getting smashed again.
So, can the rate of closure be programmed in Star?
