GLB 250
Question 2022 GLB 250 shifted from park to drive by itself...

An acquaintance of mine drives 2022 GLB 250 and recently parked their vehicle in a lot, exited, and moments later the vehicle changed to (D), traveled about 100', and struck a retaining wall at approx. 5-10mph. The police found the vehicle in drive afterward, but the driver insists they definitely put it in (P). Either way, I understand that there is a safety feature that automatically shifts to (P) any time a door opens so I am confused as to how this could happen?

I am a fairly new MB driver, so I just wanted to see if there is any history of recalls or similar cases of this happening in GLB class or other models? I can't seem to find anything online for 2022 models.

Edit: Vehicle was left running and all 4 doors shut, driver stepped out to drop off a package
