Question Source MB Heatshrink Tubing? Fixing My Mistake Breaking Connector

In replacing an AC compressor, I needed more room to work so tried to disconnect the purge vent control valve. Because I am not very smart some times, I broke the connector. I've purchased a new connector, but now I don't see how to get the old one out. It looks like the tubing is some kind of partial heat shrink to fit. From Harbor Freight, I have box of this tubing, but it seems to shrink to nothing. This tubing looks like it only shrinks a little to give a tight fit. I can probably make something, but I am wondering if it is possible to buy this tubing somewhere? Here are a couple of photos to illustrate the problem:

Broken Connector with tubing I want to replace.

New connector to replace the broken one.

Any and all advice/suggestions/help gratefully accepted.

Moderators: This was me working on an 09 R350, but I figured the problem is a lot broader than that particular model. Hence my post in this general category. Thanks.
