Buying CPO out of state

Buying CPO out of state
Hi forum members, I need your opinion. How safe it is to buy a Mercedes CPO vehicle from out of state without seeing it in person? The carfax is clean and the dealership has all the service records.
Would it be recommended to fly out to the dealership to inspect it myself? (Not convenient due to my job schedule). Or should I have a local mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection without me going there? Or just negotiate the deal and have the car shipped unseen?

I bought mine site unseen and I think CPO gives you a few days to decide after taking delivery.
Would I do it again? I dunno...forme it was the best deal around and did not want to lose it.
FLying out to see it and driving it home would have been fun but could not at the time due to work schedule.
If you have the time GO especially if makes for nice drive home.
Have another Dealer do a PPI is an option.

For me, buying a car is like buying clothes: I have to try it on first. If I sent a local mechanic to inspect it and they reported that it was mechanically sound, that wouldn't necessary preclude things that would drive me nuts, like ring/nail scratches on the steering wheel or a driver's seatbelt that reeks of years of overindulgence in perfume/cologne (I actually encountered both of these examples).
