Hello all,
My trunk lid does not always lock and pull down.
The car only has 11k miles on it.
Engine on or off same results.
1. Open trunk with key fob- fine, close with key fob, goes down but comes back up - acting as though something is blocking it.
2. Inside vehicle button on door- same result.
3. Push button in trunk - same result.
4. Trunk goes down , does not lock and goes back up.
5. Push the green emergency button 3 times, located inside top trunk, and then trunk locks and pulls down the way it is supposed to do.
6. shop cannot find any codes and works properly 50% of the time.
7. The shop called Mercedes in case i wanted to buy the new actuator. $770.00
8.They have 63 in stock. I was informed this is very odd to have 63 in stock of a $770 item.
Stating mercedes must have knowledge of this, possibly a recall, or they would not stock this many.
9. Mercedes states they know of no problem yet it is all over the internet, trunk not locking.
Anyone have any insight, opinions?

Had the same problem with my 2018 S560 when it was brand new. Mercedes replaced it immediately under warranty. I got the impression that they had replaced many prior to mine.
You can save 30% on the part purchasing it from one of the many online Mercedes dealers. At least get a quote for the part from one of the online Mercedes dealers and ask your dealer to match the online price. I just did this with a part for my SL550 and my dealer immediately matched the online price.
