2012 E350 Convertible
2012 E Class Convertible

I’ve had a 2012 Mercedes 350 convertible for the past six years. Had all the maintenance done at the dealership all along, but the unthinkable happened one day. The engine started clanging upon start up for a few seconds. Although it would stop making the noise after a few seconds, it did that nearly every time we started it. I was told it was the timing chain tensioner’s, however it was best to have the timing chain and also the sprockets replaced at the same time. I had to spend a small fortune on having an independent shop replace the timing chains, tensioners and timing sprockets. They used OEM parts, which made it a much more expensive repair. Runs great now, but what a price to pay! The timing sprockets were super expensive. I received the old ones and wondered if there is a market for used OEM parts.
