GLE 2016 Noisy engine

GLE 2016 Noisy engine
Hi all,
Recently purchased the above. Around 41,508 on the clock, 1 owner, FSH (mainly MB). Lovely vehicle BUT very noisy like how the old school diesels used to sound. Took it back the garage who listened to it and had it in for around 5 days. They rang me up and said some of the mechanics say it’s a normal sound for a diesel (1 being an ex MB technician), others said there was definitely something not quite right. We have had diesels for over 25 years and this is noisiest we’ve ever had. Anyway, got a phone call to say they had found that one of the intake pipes had come loose and the air filter needed replacing. We picked the car up only find that the noise is still there. It’s an annoying noise which you can still hear with the music on loud and only happens when you accelerate and stops when you lift off. Anyone got any ideas what it possibly could be ?
