New here...looking for used doors for my 2007 C230
Hi all. Maybe you can steer me in the right direction.
I live in Canada and rust is a thing here. My front passenger doors both are developing rust on the bottom. Ive seen this in just about every 2005 to 2007 c class. Obviously they have a drainage problem and that's why the front doors get that same rust pattern.
so I have a great body guy, he's willing to do the work but then a couple mechanic friends of mine said...why don't you get some replacement doors from the States where there's way less of a rust problem. (Our road salt for winters here is the other rust factor)
so I looked into NOS. That's a bit $$$.
I casually looked around for used doors and there seems to be a bit of those available. Some are silver like mine. Others aren't. Lots of scrap jobs with doors intact. Some are no interior features, others are complete.
2 questions...
Is this the way to go?
And if so, whats your "goto" places for Mercedes parts like this?
I'll be ordering likely from the US to Canada (Toronto)
So shipping is also a factor.
Any help is grately appreciated.
I'm planning on keeping this baby in really nice shape for the long haul as shes a beauty and loves to drive.
