ML 320 sale or junkyard
I have a 2008 ML 320 with nearly 180k miles. It has been a mostly great vehicle. Love the way it drives and has been a tow champ with my 6k lb RV an 3500 lb boat. Truth be told, I was rough on it, drove hard, towed hard, worked it on jobs hauling stuff around. The thing has been great, but I ran it into the ground. Now I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I was going to list it for $1,200 dollars and take as low as $800 for it, but today the alternator died. So now I am trying to decide to list as is, fix alternator, or sell to a junkyard. I really don't have the time to do the alternator myself, but don't wanna spend $500 to get it repaired on a vehicle wrth...$500? Below is a list of most of the issues:
Interior:
Headliner 50% fail
heated seats do not work
Exterior:
scratches and bumps and bruises, nothing major except 2"x2" piece missing from the grill
Performance:
Alternator
EGR valve sticks on startup
Oil cooler leak
there is a vibration on acceleration at times, has not been diagnosed. could be tranny, diff, or even injectors, idk
Yesterday I would of said I trust her to get me across at least a few states, today, I'm not so sure.
So I'm leaning towards salvage yard.
btw, I'm in Tampa, FL if anyone wants her.
