I have just purchased a new to me 2021 V class Marco Polo 220d. The day after driving it home the reversing camera stopped working. It has now started working again two days later and I am trying to decide if I have a fault that needs looking at.
On the camera screen there is the icon of a camera and a spanner despite the camera working again. Is this normal? Please see photo.

Yup that is normal, you are hovering the open camera cover selection which allows you to perform maintenance and to maintain (hence the spanner icon) the camera such as wiping it if it is dirty or general cleaning, all this without having to engage reverse gear.
