2016 AMG GTS tall guy cannot see instrument cluster because steering wheel blocks it

Got my car. I guess I was distracted when I did the test-drive in another GTS, because I don't remember this being the case. With the seat all the way down and steering wheel tilted all the way up, I cannot see the top third of the instrument cluster.

this is me:

Any tall forum members
1] that can relate?
2] have a solution?

Are there aftermarket HUD options?

heh! what is also hilarious is that I never caught it when I was test-driving a local GTS, I spent too much time yakking with the guy selling it, I guess?...
I am 6'4". with a 34-36" inseam, depending on pants. Have a pretty long neck. I have a hardtop GTS with no pano, and maybe a good full 2" of headroom up there.

I love the chassis. Not the quickest-feeling car I have ever owned. That would go to the AWD F-Type R, and better... C8 I also had, and the king of my experiences: the 720S I own now, But---that chassis and steering. It makes up for it.

Modify steering wheel, cut out cushioning on the top as a start. Then shave down the wheel itself. Maybe there are other aftermarket wheels that would help. Modify seat to go lower or higher, add or delete cushioning. Get different seat. If all else fails, sell to a 'short person'!

Tall guy here had the same issue in my AMG GT. Try lowering the seat further (some aftermarket brackets help) or tilt the wheel slightly down. If that doesn’t work, an aftermarket flat-bottom wheel or HUD could help. Worst case, custom seat mods or just live with it. Sucks, but common in low-slung sports cars.

(not an option, but thanks, mostly because I blame Mercedes for not allowing more upward tilt, I would be more interested in rummaging junkyards for other compatible joints to try to get more tilt.I have a buddy who suggested this: https://e6carbon.com/product/amg-gt-v2-steering-wheel/. he wants me to get a much larger wheel to allow me to see thru it. Not really where I want to go with this, but thanks)

Modify seat to go lower or higher, add or delete cushioning. Get different seat.

(now you are talking, I need to pull the seat. Take a look at the seat mounting rails and look for extra meat to cut off. I cut and weld metal and could try to lower that seat rail to the carpet, for starters. I could use better A-pillar visibility as well. )

If all else fails, sell to a 'short person'!
(now you are just being mean ;-)
