Paint and surface maintenance

2025 e-450 Nautica blue. I am looking into ceramic or triphene technology, which creates a durable, hydrophobic barrier that repels water, dirt, and grime. MAXL ONE Maxleasy or something else. The products look amazing in videos and generally have good reviews. Thanks for thoughts in advance. Steve

Hey Steve, I would definitely consider getting your paint sealed, especially if you live in a part of the US that has nasty weather. It effectively seals the paint with a durable coating that is like having a fresh wax and polish for 3 to 5 years. Not to mention it makes cleaning the vehicle way easier, protects against nasty stuff like bird droppings and tree sap. Plus if the detailer knows what he’s doing, it makes the paint look soooo good. Especially with blue paint imo. I had a blue RS6 and currently a blue G63 and the coating makes the paint look deep and gorgeous. Almost like you could put your hand deep down inside it, like it’s endless.
As for which product to go with, ceramic coating is well established and has had time to make significant advances in quality and durability. Triphene on the other hand is new and the word is made up, triphene is a marketing word and not a scientifically recognized material. Since it’s so new, the word is out on if it’s better in any way than ceramic.
In my opinion I’d go with ceramic coating, it’s tried, tested and true.
Have a look at my G63 after ceramic coating was applied. It makes the blue look stunning, like it’s dripping wet with sheen.

Cheers

My pleasure. Be sure to share some pics of your car so we can see that beauty! Before and after paint coating would be cool.

I wasn’t a believer in ceramic coating a vehicle until my wife had her SL55 done. The detailer did a light paint correction, PPF, then the ceramic. It looks amazing.

We also just did the new Camry we bought. Again, it looks amazing and is so easy to wash.
