Want to run my SLK 320 on e85
Hello,
I want to run my SLK 320 on E85. In France E85 is about $3/US-gal vs $8.17/US-gal for regular petrol.
I’ve read some W203 C320 in the US were factory-E85.
If you have a Mercedes with the M112 3.2L V6 and E85 compatibility, can you confirm whether it uses the red injectors A1120780449 / 0280156109?
My SLK currently has the smaller blue injectors and I think their flow is insufficient for E85.

There appears to be flex-fuel versions of the 320. I guess MB was testing the waters. Can't answer the question regarding the color of the fuel injectors, but in order to run E85, the entire fuel system needs to support it, not just the injectors. Ethanol is corrosive, so you will damage the engine if it's not designed for flex fuel. E10 is the most non flex fuel engines can safely run.

Yes, you have to install a legal conversion kit, emphasis on legal. eFlexFuel products for example are not legal for sale and use here in California. Looks like they are legal in France, though.
