CPO issues
Has anyone purchased a CPO car and discovered that it did not meet all 165 + points that MB claims is necessary to validate a car for the program?
And, what was done about that?

I would imagine that many cpo's would not meet the criteria if looked at closely. If it is a major issue involving brakes or tires for instance I'm sure they would make it right. I am on my second cpo. No problems, But I never checked all 165 points. I kinda doubt they are that rigorously inspected. Next time I'll probably save some money and go used.

Happens all the time. Dealers cut corners. Check your brakes, tires, and battery those are the ones they usually let slide. If you find something missing, take it back and make them fix it. CPO warranty is legit but the "inspection" is mostly marketing.

I've purchased four CPO cars over the years, and the comprehensive inspection they go on and on about has never actually been completed on any of them. CPO is not a quality assurance factor; it's merely an extended warranty factor. In reality, the onus is on the new owner to identify any shortcomings and have them addressed by the dealer.

Exactly, big insensitives from the OEM's for dealers to sell CPO inventory whether it meets the "criteria" or not.

The car was purchased from description and photos. It was 700 miles from me.
(for those who would like to invoke caveat emptor; Again, I relied on a legit MB dealer and the Certified Pre Owned claim!)
What I should have asked in the original post is who I can contact at MB to help me with the selling dealer. Yes, there are more defects.
