While picking up the new scarlet C 230 Kompressor yesterday in Victoria BC, the salesman mentioned that Mercedes-Benz Canada has told dealers that the Smart car will DEFINITELY be sold in Canada beginning in 2003-2004. The dealer already has taken a number of deposits. The price is expected to be $15,000 to $20,000 CDN, which is about $9500 - $12,900 US.

With the arrival of Mini in Canada, MB simply cannot sit with their hands tied to let BMW monopolize one market segment.

Although I would never buy a smart car, I think they look kind of neat. I saw a TON of them in Europe last fall. But I think the mini is a much "cooler" looking car IMO.
