Insurance and Extended Warranty Question
Hope this is the right place for this type of question...
My insurance question deals with changes done to the car after initial purchase. I've just bought a set of after market wheels and tires, and about two years ago bought a MB 6 disc changer for my 2002 clk on ebay.
Is it advisable to let the car insurer know of these changes and what are the risks, if any, if I do/don't? (BTW, my insurer is 21st century)

My warranty is almost up. So I've been thinking of extending the warranty, and from at least a couple of people on this forum it sounds like a good idea.
Do other companies offer warranties other than MB for MB cars?
What should I expect with a MB extended warranty (price, coverage time, any limitations)?

For the insurance, talk to your agent and read the policy binder. There are companies that will not cover certain upgrades, including bodykits, custom paint jobs, or extensive ICE. Typically, mild upgrades to stereo systems are covered, as well as wheels that are close in value to the OEM units, but it's best to check with your agent. While you have his/her attention, ask if your policy would cover you if you drive your car at a "track event" like a driving school or timed competition.
