I looked at the new Escalade today at the New Orleans auto show and I'm just not impressed as I am with the GL. The new Caddy is far superior than the outgoing model. The fit and finish is really good and the dash is nice but the options are just not there such as distronic, adaptive headlights, trailer assist, downhill assist, etc. Above all it seems huge both on the inside & out and I've gotten away from that feeling but yet don't want a low to the road car feeling either. The GL seems to fit perfect between the two and it appears to have descent room on the inside for seven. I like the fact I can get a rear sunroof too. Sorry that rear LED taillights aren't available though.
Now I haven't driven either the GL or Escalade but knowing what I do about my ML I'm sure the GL will ride just great.
I really hope that MB will keep the price as low as possible (low 50's) but I'm not placing my bets on that.
