Does anyone know what exactly is obsidian black? I asked my local dealer in LA, and they said it just a little mettallic but they dont have any cars with that paint. Does anyone have any pics? or description? I m torn between either obsidian black or black opal for my new gl450!!

I love Obsidian. It is mettalic black.

You can't go wrong with either color. Obsidian black is black with metal flake it while black opal is a very deep (almost black) blue with metal flake. Obsidian black is very common, so I'd be surprised if you can't spot one at a local dealership. The dealership should also have a book with large paint chips in it for you to take a look at.

i don't believe black opal is available for the GL.

I had the opal black in my SL and loved it. Don't see many in that color. Going with the obsidian in the new GL since the opal is not available.
