They have the technology, hence the S class have it, they are just not sharing it between department... NEED more with one another

The GL definitely needs the rearview camera. I test drove the GL last week and I had a hell of a time backing up because the visibility was quite poor. The GL sits high and it is a loooong vehicle. Although the parktronic helped but the addition of rearview camera will help greatly. My GX470 has the rearview camera and IMHO, it is a must have option in all SUV. I like the ride of the GL; very comfortable, quite and somewhat agile for SUV of this size. The interior is well done also. Much better fit and material than the ML and the R especially. The R-class interior is pathetic. I am going to wait for the desiel version next year and see what the fuel rating is.

The rear view camera is on backorder, PERIOD. Makes no difference which model you buy. Case in point, has anyone SEEN te feature in an "S"?

Yes I have the rear view camera in my S550. I use it for seeing what's behind me often but have not used it to park except once into a rear entry spot. It works well in that mode. Parallel parking takes some knowledge of what the lines mean and getting used to it. Here is a shot of the image on the screen...I am in the garage and ready to back out into the driveway.
