Running Board

I bought a GL450 and would like to add a running board. I checked with a few local dealers and they don't have a part number and can't order the one that's in the accessories catalog (chrome tube). I don't like the chrome tube anyway. Is there a way to order the running boards that comes with the Premier edition? Does anyone have the part number and price? The parts department wants the VIN number for a Premier edition to lookup the parts, which I don't have.

Great question. I saw a Premier Edition yesterday and love the running boards. I want a set for the OBlack that I ordered. Those and the door handle inserts would be perfect.

Just left the local dealership. They indicated the MB has decided to make the PE running aboards available as an accessory. He said 4 people had already made the same request as well. They are sharp.

That's excellent news, can't wait to order and install the Premier Edition running board. Unfortunately my local Mercedes Parts department in the Orlando area still does not know what a Premier Edition running board looks like, so it looks like i will have to try other dealers.
Also, Canadian dealers offers two running board for the GL450:
- Integrated running boards (dealer installed)
- Stainless steel side step bars (dealer installed)
I will call them and see if they have a picture of Integrated running board and it sounds like Stainless steel side step is the same one offered in the USA.

You really can't have an appreciation for how really nice they are until you see them in person. They are beautiful. When my OBlack gets here I'm adding the chrome door handle inserts and the running boards. It will already have the chrome fog lights since I got the lighting package, plus the appearance package. I really like the look of the 19" wheels vs. the 18". They look more stylish and fill out the wheel well better.

I got a chance to see these today. They are by far the best looking running boards I've ever seen on a vehicle. Very nice and almost looks like they are built into the vehicle.

Coming from a Mac user, they look like something Apple would have designed.
