2007 GL450 Capri Blue
Finally took delivery!

Took delivery Friday a week earlier than expected. Only about 200 miles this weekend but loving everything about this GL. I've heard the hissing sound that others have mentioned coming from the airmatic suspension when you park and get out. I'm guessing it's normal - sounds like a big rig with air brakes to me ...lol.

Where the hell do you guys keep your owners manual pack? The only place I could find that would fit is back in the spare tire compartment!

One surprise I had was the cargo net that came with it - I expected a bungy net kind of thing but got a pretty nice folding framed net that covers from floor to ceiling and zips up in its own case. It looks like it would keep my dog at bay in the back - nice!

I got a Capri Blue, premium pkg, lighting, sunroof, ipod, trailer hitch, appearance pkg (love the 19" wheels, skid plates, and was surprised to also receive the roof cross bars as part of this), black leather, ambient lighting, and burl walnut.

What the heck is ambient lighting? How does this differ from trucks without it?

Is voice control going to be reto-fittable? I have the buttons - but alas, didn't know you could order it.

OK, I'm rambling now - still got the new car excitement going!

I just took delivery of my G/L on 9/17. It is Pewter w/ black leather and the premium, appearance, and ambient lighting packages. I have some of the same questions as you. I did not know to order the voice command so that does not work. I would be interested to know if this could be corrected after the fact. I also received the cross bars and cargo net as part of the other packages. So far we are enjoying the vehicle.

I'll have to get some pics up soon. Frankly, I was too embarrassed to take pics in the driveway this weekend. My neighbors already were giving me looks for washing a shiny new car (hey it rained on the way home from picking it up!)

The Capri Blue really is nice. It's dark so it has an awesome shine like black and the metalflake looks impressive in direct sunlight.

It does a great job of keeping the dog in the back. Also saved my rear seat passengers from flying luggage the one time I slammed on the brakes.
