Wind noise

I have a lot of wind noise coming from the sunroof area on my GL450. Is this a common problem that others are experiencing or is it just mine?

Do you have the cross-bars on top of your GL? I do not have them on and do not notice any wind noise from the sunroof.

Yes I do have the crossbars. Maybe that is the cause. I'll look forward to hearing from others with the crossbars to see if they have wind noise. I guess I can take them off and see if that solves it. Thanks!

regarding wind noise...

can you slide the cross bars to the back until you need them and then slide them back in place? I've had cross bars, Yakima racks, etc. for years on my SUVs and yes they do make noise. -cjd

No you can't slide them. They have fixed spots where they have to be.

Depends where I'm going.
I moved mine without issues. They don't fit into notches or anything as they are compression fit so they are not limited to the two spots from the factory. That said, they do have a limited range of movement because the 2 longitudinal bars are not parallel.

Look at the manual, you will see that there is only two spots they say to put them. Where these places are there are two small indents on the frame to show you where to place them.
