7-8 years for a full body redesign. Upgrades and refreshening typically are every 2-3 years. Look at the GL420 Bluetec and you'll get an idea of what the next GL refresh will look like possibly.

I've come so close to buying one many times but something about the rear bothers me. I think it's that bit across the top. But I'll probably get over it and order one because it's the best car on the market for me.
