I just got the all-season third row mats from MB, and i think they're great-i do wish they covered the driveline hump, but they are perfectly formed for the footwells, and the one does extend to the door under the folding seat for entry.Originally Posted by oinick
I bought the floor liners from MB for the front and second rows (they are very nice and have a fancy Mercedes-Benz plaque integrated into them) but I can't find decent mats for the third row. Does anyone know where to get mats for the third row that will actually fit?

I ordered the wrong color third row All-Seasons from ParkPlace. If they won't return I'll have a black set to trade for some white PE running boards! Any takers?

Does anyone have pics of the MB official cargo liners installed on second and/or third row seats?
Also, has anyone installed a one piece (ie runner) cargo liners in the second and/or third row seats? Something like this:
Any pics? Where did you get them? I checked the autosportcatalogue, but they don't have them for the GL.
Thanks!

The only thing that I know of is the Husky. It's a 2-Piece for the 2nd Row only.

Has anyone tried these? Looks like 2 covers for the 2nd row and a split cover for the third, allowing the seats to be folded in any configuration (click "additional images").

This looks like a "wrap" and I think would be great if you haul a lot of dirty/muddy stuff.Originally Posted by sraj

I have the Weathertech liner and for everyday usage it works like a champ.

I can see that the liner would be more convenient for everyday use, although I also like how the Canvasback allows the seats to be split-folded.Originally Posted by oknish

Did you ever solve your grommet issue?

Yes, I did but looks like I never posted it. So, glad you asked. I bought the mat fasteners from MB. I think they were like $6 a pair or such.Originally Posted by sraj

I ordered the mats from Qualitycarmats.com since they were the only one willing to drill the grommet holes without putting the metal grommet lips on the holes. The mats were same as Autosports one in that they were also heavy Berber and were custome fit for GL.
Once I got the mats, I discovered that the holes were a bit small so I went to work with a box cutter/exacto knife and some scissors. Enlarged the holes a bit and stuck the bottom part of mat fastner through the hole. Forced the top fastener part on the bottom part and with a couple of good mallet taps, they were all set.
It is really easy and the top part of the fastener have a big "lip" so any small mistakes in enlarging the mat holes would be covered. Same for any loose mat threads left hanging.

Sorry if I missed this from a prior post, but why did you order without the grommet lips on the holes? Was it the fit issue, or you preferred the MB fasteners for some other reason? I'll probably order the same mats, so I'm trying to take advantage of your experience!

The standard grommet lips will not fit on the MB mat holding "pillars". If you look on the floor of the front row, you will see 2 plastic pillars on each side and MB fasteners snap on to these pillars holding the mats in place. The standard grommet lip did not have a tight fit on these pillars so the mats kept sliding around. That is why I just got the mats with holes in them and put the fasteners in myself. First one shows driver side mat and second one shows back side of the driver's mat, fasteners and floor pillars. Third one shows passenger side mat. Let me know of any questions.

I wanted to order the WeatherTech cargo mat for the third row down, but they say it's not available for my vehicle. Isn't the GL 320 and 450 the same?
I knew the Hexomat were cheap quality, and "custom" made hand-cut. I wish there was a mat for the second row down as well.
What's the item number for the WeatherTech mat?
You wanna see my WalMart $20 cargo mat?

Autosports catalog's item #s for Weathertech Cargo liners for 450 is 2513 and it comes in Black, Gray and Tan colors.
Let me guess you are using clear vinyl sheeting as a mat right now and the kind you have has "nibs" on one side to provide better grip. What do I win?

Nish, what diameter should the holes be? I'm getting ready to order the mats, and the rep told me that I can specify the diameter that I need.Originally Posted by oknish

I believe that the holes need to be 5/8 inch in diameter. That might be a bit tight but you can always make it a bit bigger, if needed. Or, you can buy the mat fasteners from MB and just measure the dia on those to be certain. I am pretty sure it will be close to what I mentioned above.Originally Posted by sraj

I also ordered the berber 3rd row runner and the berber cargo (seat up) mats which have not yet been received.

I've been watching this forum with interest and checking mat options online. The berber sounds like the way to go for me.Originally Posted by Nevada Jack
I ordered these to use with the OEM berber mats. I got the front and rear 4 piece set. For those interested in the Hexomats, I think these are identical to them except they are clear instead of colored. Since I don't have my GL yet I placed one over my S550 mat so you could see how they look. I had clear plastic over my mats in the S and it worked real well.I also ordered the berber 3rd row runner and the berber cargo (seat up) mats which have not yet been received.

I have reordered the berber for the smaller cargo area (3rd row up) and a set of 4 Lloyd's clear plastic (nice surface and small nubs that hold them in place) for the front and 2nd row. I will see what the factory mats look like and use them awhile but think I will eventually go with the berber front and runners for 2nd and 3rd row.
I have been really happy with Berber especially with the ease of cleaning without a vaccum. The other day my 4 year old dumped a small mountain of sand out of his shoes and I just pulled the mat out and shook it hard which did the trick. IMO, plush ones are a bit nicer on feet.

I always thought berber looked better than the plush, but I hadn't considered the comfort issue. If you were to order again, would you still go with berber?Originally Posted by oknish
