So, be careful.....
Oh wow, N'AWLINS. Sorry to hear that. Try calling them and ask for Terry who is the Customer service Manager. She was very helpful to me. FWIW, my mats from them were perfect.

My new mats I recently received didn't have the grommets either to fit over the stock MB posts. I thought the driver side won't slip around that much, but it is. I tried removing the grommets on the mats that came with the truck, but couldn't easily, so I stopped by Lowe's yesterday and found some rubber washers that fit perfectly over the posts.I will remove the rubber spikes from the post area then glue onto the runner grommet/washers onto back of the mats. I will take pictures this weekend and let you guys know how it works.

Thanks for the information on the mats. I will call tomorrow to order. I did get my GL550 yesterday and we love it so far. I think that suspension and ride might even be better than my S550 which is just amazing to me. We are trying to do a last minute scramble to get out to Vegas this weekend!

It looks like we will probably be able to make Saturday's drive. Unfortunately, I have a commitment on Friday which will not allow us to join for dinner. I can't wait to meet everyone and to see those mats!

OK guys my turn to ask questions about the mats. I read all the posts, and I am still a bit puzzled about the MB mats.

Are the MB mats Berber type?
Apparently the MB mats have grommets for the front, what about the second row?
Do the MB mats for the second row cover the hump?
What do the MB third row mats look like?

Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

My 450 has the berber type mats. The new 550's that I saw last weekend are not the berber type mats but a low profile carpet type mat similar to the carpet on the floor. I am not sure about the new 450's.

Yes, the front MB mats have grommets but the back two rows do not have grommets.

No, the MB mats for the second row do not cover the hump.

The mats for the third row have a pretty funky shape and the all weather mats that I have actually come up to the beginning of the second row. I can take a picture of mine if you would like.

Hope thats helps.......

Beancouter, thank you for your response and offering to take pics. I have seen the all-weather mats for the second row.

It looks like I will go with MB mats for the front, because of the grommets
and I will get the berber type mats for the second and third row from autosports.

-Thanks

This forum is great. The wealth of knowlege here makes it so easy for us GL newbies to figure things out.

After reading this entire thread, I am going with the weatherall weathers and the hexo mat for rear. I am constanly putting wet and muddy stuff in the back of my car, that is why i didn't do the weathertechs.

Here is are my 2 questions:

1. Will mats for 07's fit my 08? I am pretty sure they will. most online catalogues aren't updated for 08.

2. When ordering the hexomats online from autosportcatalogue, how do I specify I want it cut for use while the 3rd row is down?

Thanks.

OK, I figured out my 2nd question.

Can anyone confirm that the trunk dimensions in the 07 & 08 are identicle?

Just found these from weathertec that cover the entire second row, including the all elusive (to date) hump.

Holy Smokes Slim!

Just ordered the 2nd row to give it a whirl. Our hump gets rather dirty as you can imagine.

I'll let folks know what I think after receiving/installing it.

You can always tell when Steve-the-Pilot is not able to keep up on the forum due to travels. I promise you, that little statement above would normally bring out the best hoots in the world from him.

I'm pretty sure Nish was chuckling too when he read it. Not sure 'bout Jen, but I bet Allen had a grin on his face.

While awaiting a biz call here in DC this evening, I just had to log onto the forum to catch up, and boy am I glad I did. Your post brought out one heckuva chuckle, that's for sure.

Off to visit the crabs tomorrow night. There's an insider that only you'll understand.
