GL320 and C350 on order
GL 320 arrives!!

One day short of 5 months the long wait and hard work has paid off. We took delivery of the following;

040 Black
240 Macadamia Leather
731 Burl Walnut Wood Trim
070 Chrome Package
218 Back-up camera
289 Wood/leather streeing Wheel
550 Trailer Hitch
864 Rear Entertainment
889 Keyless Go
P01 Package
R55 Appearance Pkg
319 Lighting Pkg
324 Sunroof PKG
581 3-zone Climate PKG

Items added - Phone Puck, Mats

Final cost to us was $1500 over invoice.

This GL fell into our arms after 2 orders were botched by 2 other dealers. We had to make the decision to take it with only knowing it had the essentials we wanted. In the end it had a little more which now we are happy with.
First 100 miles impression is off the charts. Vance did a good job on fit and finish.

Oh and you may ask my thoughts on the 320 CDI....This engine is simply awesome! Less lag off the start than I've read about and loves to run at highway speed and lets say a little over those speeds also.

We are glad we did not give up trying to get one of these machines. When gas hits $3.00 in a few days/weeks I'm sure we will chuckle a bit.

Thanks to all that keep this forum going. Its one of the best.
Thanks to Nevada Jack the truck looks like the following...

I am glad to know the new Bluetec diesel engine is good after a few complaints in the GL and E series. Enjoy, post some photos and keep us diesel fans posted.

It is not the BLUETEC engine, it's a CDI with particulate filter.

I think the Bluetec and CDI engines are the same, it just becomes officially "Bluetec" when the filters are added...

Not as I understand it...the Bluetec in the E320CDI has a different setup with catalytic converters and some other stuff. It will become a fully qualified Blutec when they add the Urea tank in 2008 after approval from the EPA. The CDI in the M/R/GL is not a Bluetec and has a particulate filter and does not have the catalytic converter components.

You are correct the engines are the same I think...the exhaust system is the Bluetec element from which it gets it's designation.

See this link to the MB site about the Bluetec and CDI.

BLUETEC is a treatment of exhaust gases produced by a CDI engine

Right. Now for 2008 they're going to add the Adblue tank to comply with regs for all 50 states for 2008 and beyond. Beyond the cat on the E320 Bluetech all the engines are the same in the R/ML/GL and E.
