new crossbars

Just thought I'd post these for others to see. These are really nice and should be with a cost of $350. Easy to install and very sturdy.

Not nearly as much as I thought it would be. The new Thule rack wasn't that bad either.

These are the crossbars which came with my Appearance pkg. I was worried about wind noise, and if you pay close attention, it is present, but i like the look and decided to leave them on-now i never notice any extra noise.

Yes they do come with that pkg as I later found out.

I agree with your assessment on wind noice. If I close the sunshade I can barely hear and really have to be listening for it.

Unfortunately, they are fixed but I guess you could move the front bar a little b/c it does expand about an inch total.

Thanks. The reason I mention it is on my wagons you could slide them forward or backward. This allowed you to minimize the turbulence and the noise. But as I indicated earlier, I rarely used them and they sat in the garage until I sold the car.

As stated, they can be moved a little but the issue is that the roof rails are not parallel and the width of the crossbars is not adjustable. They are nice to have though because you don't need any anything additional to mount a roof mounted carrier from Yakima or Thule.

6-7-81-2128 which is directly from my invoice. I started with the number in the accessory catalog but of course it didn't match. Another MB screw up.
