Strange (maybe not) behaviors on my GL320CDI
Have about 1100 miles on my GL, and it makes an odd noise that i assume is airmatic related. Whenever i shut the doors, it sounds like i've just poured water onto a hot skillet for just a second. not bad, just odd.
Additionally, and i know this is probably normal, but occasionally at stop lights and drive-through windows, i'll notice the airmatic adjusting up or down...thought that was speed-related, so wonder why it's doing it at those other times?

The airmatic system will release pressure when you shut off the vehicle.
As for the adjusting while at a stop or drive-thru, that is normal. The vehicle is trying to level itself out. Just like if you were to put a heavy load in the rear, it would try to bring the rear back up to normal height.

mine does the same thing
I just got my GL320 today (SUNDAY delivery!) and it has 25 miles on it. It makes exactly the noise you describe. I am glad others are hearing the same noises, since I was afraid something was wrong.
