Door Assists Needed?

Anybody notice that your kids/wives/other riders have trouble getting the door to actually close when they shut it-ALWAYS takes a few tries. They ought to offer assisted-close if the doors are that tough to shut...don't get me wrong, i love the fact that they are bank-vault tight, but it gets annoying at times too.

If you lower the windows slightly or open the 3rd row vent windows the doors will close more easily; less air pressure inside the cabin. You can lower the windows with your remote and close them once inside the car. Not the optimal solution but one that works for cars with a tight seal.

Happens on our W163 too. I used to tell my brother not to slam the car doors before this, but I've made an exception with the ML.

He once slammed the door on an S-Class. I spent fifteen minutes explaining to him how door closing assist works. He still slammed the door.

Yeah, it stinks. I hate that it doesn't have the assist that my S Class has

I think the "seal" can be adjusted by a good service department so the doors will close easier.

The "seal" is the rubber trim on each door.
