Trailer towing

I am not worried now
I am taking delivery of 07 GL320CDI tomorrow (hopefully) and was quite concerned about its claimed towing capability. I have a boat which with trailer etc is probably in 6500 lb range. I tow my boat 3 or 4 times a year, towing with Yukon XL was effortless. Few other posts here had me worried, but I feel much better now. Thanks for posting your pics of the Jeep and sharing your experience.

found this thread from a Google search, very helpful!
I'm looking to pull our open trailer car transporter and maxes out about 8000 GVWR so now I know not to even try the GL.
We also have an enlosed trailer that is about 15,000 GVWR and for that kind of weight, must be a diesel to tow that kind of weight. Too bad Mercedes can't even do 7500 safely since that is the bare minimum for car transport really.

GL Weight Distributing on trailer
I spoke with a lady with a weight distributing gizmo on her horse trailer and a Chevy. She said before she added the gizmo it felt like the trailer was in control of the vehicle. Not so now.
Is anyone towing horses with the GL out there?
