Gl450 52,500 Usd ( Good Deal )?

A friend of mine is selling his GL450 black black has 6200 miles on it. Fully loaded except for rear ent package.

Is that a good deal? Just wondering. He is selling it for 52,500 usd.

You need to get the exact options and also look at the original MSRP to decide whether it's a good deal.

The MSRP's for New GL450's range anywhere from 54K (base) to 76K fully loaded.

As the other posted indicated, fully loaded doesn't say too much. Does it have Distronic, Lighting Pkg, Appearance Pkg, Leather, etc? Find out the full list of options and price it out retail. Discounts are pretty stong right now on new GL450's.

Not here in TX. The max dealers are willing to do is 2K off MSRP. I almost bought a 74K msrp GL via carsdirect.com, (thanks to newbie's tip), for 67K, but when I was going to do the paperwork the agent realized that they cannot not do direct deals in TX, they can only refer you to a local dealer. Initially I told them I want to buy the GL in Cali due to it pricing out almost 8K less than MSRP and would arrange shipping myself.

Since the GL has such a wide list of options which can inflate the price to the mid 70's, does that also factor in heavily when selling them used? e.g a 65K msrp GL vs a 74K msrp gl, how much of a difference would they sell for if used. I doubt the extra options would get that much more.

sbarsp - CarsDirect doesn't do direct deals, IMO. They only refer you to dealers and get a cut from dealers. CarsDirect is not an authorized dealer and this arrangement saves them the headache of doing the paperwork, etc. With that said, it's a bummer to hear that your deal fell through.

NY_SG - NJ has nailed it about the options. You need to find the full list and then decide on pricing. In SoCal, I have had dealers call a GL fully loaded when it only had the P1 package. You can get an idea of various options at MBUSA web site under the Build Your Own section. If this GL is indeed "fully" loaded, only missing the rear entertainment, then the sticker would be close to 75K and in that case this would be a good deal provided car has not been wrecked or been in another accident.
