Active Headlights - great!

Hi all. Just got home from a long drive on dark and unfamiliar country roads bringing my son to a friends house. Just wanted to say how great this head lighting system is! It was constantly adjusting through curves and seemed to also adjust for elevation going up and down hills. I didn't realize it did vertical tracking also??? Very safe feeling for me with my old eyes that don't see so well at night anymore. Great automobile! Relaxed with my iPod just cruising where I would normally be all stressed out. Just wanted to share a little story.

Bought my GL off the lot and it did not have active HD's. I thought that regular lights would be ok because the headlights were pretty high off the ground. I was wrong. I find myself parking the GL at night and taking my E500 with active HD's. HD's are really substantially better, I can't understand why they are not standard on a truck with a $67k sticker.

I love the HIDs also. I was stuck in Belt Parkway traffic and I was just swerving left to right and I saw the lights move, it was so cool!!!!!

Living in Princeton with the dark back roads, these HIDs lit up the entire road not to mention they turned at every twist, good thing we got the lighting package

I agree that HIDs should be standard. The lighting package is about $900 so it's not like MSRP will be go up that much.

But with that said, they are indeed great. I love the fact that the street signs illuminate so much better with HID vs regular halogens.

Great, make me feel WORSE!

After a talk with my service advisor, I found that I cannot have the actives installed in my GL320.
