Where can I put a second battery?
Hi,
First of all, sorry for my bad English.
I'm a Frenchspeaking guy from Belgium.
I ordered a GL 420 CDI, to be delivered on August.
My concern is now the place for a second battery.
On my other cars (a Mercedes Viano and a Land Rover Defender), I used to put a second battery with a coupler, in order to have a compressor fridge running in the car during holidays and trips.
So my questions are:
- where is the battery in the GL?
- where can I find some room to put a second one (I figured I could use the sparewheel compartment but the sparewheel carryer doesn't seem to be available yet)?
- how easily can I have a wire going from the starter battery to the accessory battery?
Any suggestions?
Eric

No. When you've two batteries, when the engine is not running, the fridge drains only the accessory battery. When the engine is running (and the starter battery is fully charged), the two batteries are coupled.
Same system as in the boats, or in the campers.
