Finally Taking Delivery TODAY! :)
Well the day has finally come.
We are taking delivery of our new GL 320 CDI this afternoon. We were hoping for it to arrive before we left for Europe on vacation a few weeks ago, but as it turned out, the vehicle arrived the day that we left! Now that we are back in town... it has been sitting here waiting for us for about two weeks.
I will post some pictures a little later today, so stay tuned!
The vehicle has 11 whole miles on it... How many miles did you other folks have upon delivery?

Congratulations! Please let us know if you got the Q3 hose.
Miles at delivery can vary, but it's usually in the the 10-20 range. Check out http://www.curtrich.com/february2004.html and scroll down to "The Zero Miles Myth".

We just returned from the dealership! What a great vehicle! Its been a while since I had driven or crawled around the GL, since I had ordered it back in December. Its even nicer than I remember.
I am also very pleased to report that I have the Q3 hose (used my wife's makeup mirror to check the part number on the hose). Actually this was probably the first thing that I checked. Our sales rep showed us to the car and the first thing I asked was "How do you pop the hood?"
jpeardm, ASU is a great school. My alma mater actually. Lots of distractions at the school though... Make sure your son doesn't forget what he is there for, one little thing that they don't tell you is that after your first two years you have to re-apply to the major program that you are interested in. In my case, it was the business program, and it is pretty competitive. 3.3 GPA minimum to get in any of the business majors.
Now for some pictures!

One more pic...
One other thing, the 3 zone climate control is really worth it! The outside temp was 107 according to the car's thermometer, and the car really cools off quickly when you blast the A/C!

Congrats Danno..............The air conditioning in these cars is really great. I only have the regular two zone air and even in 100+ degrees here in Las Vegas so far it has cooled down the car incredibly fast.........Are you keeping the existing bumper plate on or going for the stainless/chrome one?

Thanks, and congrats. I love my GL320 -- over 4000 miles without a hiccup!

Congrats! I remember the feeling....I just wish I still had it.
I'm glad to know someone else has the Q3 hose. I only wish I did. Its a matter of time now......until it happens again for me.

Thanks Guys... I am looking forward to a road trip to stretch its legs a bit... and give the hose a good test.
I will take some more pics of the interior tomorrow when the sun is out... We decided on the Black MB-tex interior, and I am glad that we made that choice. Its really hard to differentiate from leather, and it feels great on the ole back side.
I think we will stick with the black bumper plate for now... I do like the stainless one, but since we didn't get the skidplate package with all of the other Stainless, it doesn't look too out of place. If we had the skidplates, I would definitely do the stainless bumper plate.

Hey Danno - been wondering where you were. Great to see you back and even better to hear you got the GL. Looks really great and Silver/Black is one of my favorite combos. CONGRATS and enjoy the ride.

I'm getting ready to take a long trip in my GL 320 -- build date 3/21/07 -- and I would like to know if I have a Q2 or Q3 hose. So just how did you use your wife's mirror to check the hose? I mean, can you give me a step by step instruction on where to look? I can't figure it out from the rest of the posts about the hose number.
Thanks, and congrats. I love my GL320 -- over 4000 miles without a hiccup!

Look for a metal pipe about 2.5 inches in diameter which comes out of the middle of the "V" of the engine where the turbocharger sits, and bends 90 degrees toward the driver's side. The rubber hose connects to the metal pipe and goes from the end of the metal pipe over to the intercooler which sits parallel to the radiator. The part number is located on the lower front side of the rubber hose where it attaches to the metal pipe from the turbocharger.
I just reached down with a mirror to see the underside of the rubber hose and held a mirror just under the rubber hose to view the part number. The very last line of the part number had a "Q3" on it.
Be sure and let the vehicle cool down properly before attempting this as you will need to get your arm down between some of the coolant hoses and the fan shroud to get the mirror in position.
I hope this was descriptive enough... Good luck!
