Acquistion Cost Of Gl450 Thru Mbusa
Was anyone charged $1095 for a acquistion fee for a 33 month lease?
I think I was scammed. If not, I am going to the dealer on Monday
THanks

Wow...stiff. My last MB lease was around $795 in Sept 2006 and they may have jacked the fee up since. MB leases are almost always bad once you consider these acquisition fees and bad money factors. There are other leasing options out there, you know. They usually give you much better money factors and don't get you with these steep acquisition fees. Their residuals are lower, but you still end up with a lower payment and the option to buy it for less at the end. Was this a special lease? You know they have 5.90 for 48 months and 6.90 for 60 and 72 month financing through July 2 on the GL and unless you have to lease because you use it for your business, the only way leasing may be more favorable than purchasing it, you can take a large deduction because it is a heavy truck. I hope you are not too far in the process, though. $1095 may be now the standard acq fee, but it is steep and would have made me think twice before leasing.

$795 is the standard MB Financial lease acquisition cost. Like everything else at the dealership they usually mark it up. Likewise they most likely marked up your money factor as well. This is the reason why I did not finance/lease the car through the dealership but paid cash. I don't mind the dealership making a buck or two but when they do stuff like this it is really unjustified. You would think that MB dealers would not do things like this but in my experience they are as bad or worse than the other car dealerships. Just to let you know my dealer marks up the lease acqusition cost to $995.
