We ordered our GL550...

2001 BMW 540i/6-speed, 2008 GL550
We ordered our GL550...
but if the price turns out to be crazy, we can change the order to a GL450. My dealer spoke to his MB Marketing Manager, who expects 2008 pricing info to be released next Monday, and speculates that the GL550 base will be $76,900. Hope that's close.
We are trying to decide between silver and pewter. Have not seen either in person...opinions?

My personal opinion on the color is that I like Silver best with the Ash interior. I know, I know, I know... why didn't I consider that color combo for my vehicle? Because we already own an A6 with the same colors and I didn't want both vehicles to look so similar.

Congrats sraj! I have a sneaking suspicion that may just be the exact price, which would be quite nice.

way to go, sraj. Hope the pricing turns out to be right. I can't believe that there will be no Distronic on 550. GRRRRR.....
Silver and Pewter are both excellent colors. I think Mac interior looks good with Pewter. The first GL I saw as Pewter/Mac and that color combo has just stuck with me.

GL450 (Alabaster White/Black Interior)
Personally, I like the Silver alot better than the Pewter. I almost went with Silver but liked the White a little better. Check out the Black interiors, they are very sharp.

We own a silver with black interior and are very pleased. I really love white and that was my first choice until I saw one. Just too large a vehicle for white IMO. Silver and black interior are great choices if you do not want to be washing every other day too!
