Question about GL450 wheel

My GL450 has the 19in wheel from the appearance package. From the wheel stem/valve, it looks like tire pressure sensor is installed. Does the GL450 comes with pressure sensor installed in each wheel? Or the GL450 measure tire pressure by ESP like other Mercedes models?

I have the appearance package 19's also and I believe the sensors are in each wheel. The way I understand it the TPMS for the USA cars only gives a warning if any tire goes low. Canadian and European I think read out individual pressures for each tire (the advanced TPMS). I remember it's in the 1000 page manual somewhere.

I concur, the TPMS is in the wheels. If you go with aftermarket wheels they can transfer them to the new wheels.

+1.

But be careful if getting the sensors transfer to new wheels since they are kind of fragile and break easy. Cost $250 approx per sensor to replace, if I remember correctly from what BoxBoss experienced.

I wonder if the dealer can activate the MFD to show individual tire pressure like the Canadian GL450? Does anyone know if this is possible?

I think there was some discussion on this a while back and I am pretty sure the answer is no.

Right!
My installer broke one of the four...$250 for the replacement. If it ever happens to you, make sure you get the stem and stem fittings. My new sensor came with the stem but not the fittings. No tire shop in town had any that would fit. My dealer had to order the kit (~$16.) I drove around for two weeks with the tire warning light flashing.
