Chrysler is not dead...!

I thought the relationship would be over but this item indicates otherwise. MOPAR on your axles... What is next...?

You are correct and it is because over the years MB shut down many of chrysler operations in an effort to cut costs to a point that Chrysler cannot survive as a stand alone corporation. They have to rely on someone else to build parts for them.. At leaset for now till they can re create those functions.

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

At one time I owned the last Chrysler that the Nixon administration leased for the Western White House in California. This was a car for the President of the United States. It had very few miles on it and had been purchased by one of the Marines stationed there after the President resigned. It had had some stuff taken out of it (I guess top-secret stuff) but was otherwise intact. And it was the biggest turd of a car I'd ever seen. I think it was a New Yorker or something similar in size, and nothing fit well. Sure, age had taken some toll, but just the general condition of the build was crap. You'd think Lee Iacoca himself would've made sure stuff was put on properly. Anyway, if Chrysler contiues to infect Mercedes Benz, I'm worried we'll get more of what we've seen from Chrylser in the past, in the MB line.

Paranoidly yours,

STP

Guys this stuff isn't going to make a bit of difference, you wouldn't even know it was there unless someone told you! Long as they aren't doing engines, platforms, there is nothing to worry about. Do you really think Mercedes is going to put some Chrysler engineered junk on a Mercedes and just ship it? Mercedes knows full well that they're just now starting to get out of the quality doghouse, they aren't going to go back. If you read the article most of the things being shared are going from Mercedes to Chrysler not the other way around.

It's very simple:
DAG and Chrysler have to honor those long-term (volume) contracts negotiated with the suppliers. It's cheaper to still use the same supplied parts than to buy their way out.

"The two can't seem to live without each other" is really not relevant to this situation.
These two ex-roommates used the same call-girl one night, and now they both have to buy a months worth of penicillin. Even though they've moved-on.

I have a degree in English. If I wanted to read any more, I'd help my kids with their homework. Damn it, man, I am done reading!

Besides, unless I see an S-Class sized condom on everything Mercedes puts into Chrysler, I'm going to worry about something nasty getting on to MB!

Is MB now going to offer a "lifetime" drivetrain warranty like Chrysler? Don't think so.

You sound like someone that believes warranties are free.
