Just got back from vacation and saw this post. Did Fletcher have just one or a couple of them? Also, does the 550 have the stainless/chrome bumper plate or the plastic one?

The bumper sill guard is chrome, as are the roof rails and the belt line along the windows. I have some other pics posted on my mac.com gallery site listed in my sig.

Just got back from a week in Atlantis, Bahamas with the kiddies. After too many trips to Disney this is the next great place for them. Caught up on all the chatter, particularly about the possible delays some of the guys were facing. Called my Dealer and my Verde/Mac is enroute. It was produced on the 17th as promised and is within a week -10 days from my garage. Talk about Christmas in August!!!

I had a GL550 sighting over weekend.. It's awesome. Not too much and not too little- seemed just right.. It was actually at an MB dealer parked next to a GL450 in their lot outside.. It was stunning and more impressive then it's little GL 450 brother.. The emblem is a little in your face but not too much.. The thing which stood out most to me were AMG rims.. Never thought they'd have that much of an effect.. Make truck look manly and tough.. Also split exhaust were nice... This 550 will stick out against 450's... There here and I can't wait for mine..

'06 M5/'08 GL 550/'08 ML 350 Edition 10
My salesman called me yesterday as his dealership got in their first 550. I immediately rushed over to see it in the flesh. Let me start by saying--pictures do not do this vehicle justice. It has a very large 'presence' associated with it. If I order one it will be for my wife, but she was unsure of it as she stated the vehicle had a 'macho' look to it. She wasn't sure how she'd look driving it around. I tried to convince her the vehicle will look slightly toned down in silver (this one at the dealership was black)--hopefully it worked. I absolutely LOVE this SUV!!

If I can ask a favor of you. As a proud GL450 owner it would be really nice if you could lighten up a bit from your constant postings about how much better your soon to be car is better than mine it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine. Am I a little bit jealous of you guys who are about to get your 550's? Yes, but not to the point where I am going to trade mine in any time soon.

I don't know what you guys are talking about.. GL550's go great with pink things, little things and cute things.. It's just such a simple an un-noticeable car.. Can't see why anybody but a soccor-mom would be interested in it.. Does that help everyone's feelings now?

I think this thing is going to set Range Rover and Cadillac on their ears. The RR is equally priced and some of their gadgets may hold some sway, but ride and looks is far above it. The Cad it not in the same class!
Greg told me today mine is still B4 (in production) with a VIN and once it gets to D5 which is Carrier Assigned (could be by Friday), it will be 10-14 days to Denver. Looks like the first week of September....
