You should definately do it, Jack! If I can add roof rails to a CL550 you certainly can add tha AMG badge. Then you too can enjoy the friendly waves from the "purists". It is however, an odd wave... not all the fingers are extended...
(Actually, I really do think it would be a fine finishing touch, go for it! Like you have said before--you don't justify your purchases--if you like it--you get it)!

I am so flipping shocked at folks who go nuts about this stuff. C'mon, nobody called me a "poser" when I put the wood and leather steering wheel in, or when I had my rims chromed, or when I put on the clear bra or the chrome fins! We modify them because we like to. I got down on the Braebus mods because I thought it made the GL look too generic, but hey if that's what someone wants, deep down it's still the same damned truck, right?
Let it go, folks, they own their own cars!
