Adding Distronic to the GL -- Can it be done

No. Retrofitting Distonic in a 550 is an exercise in futility. I am sure it can be done but I for one would not trust it. If an '08 GL550 ends up with Distonic then it will be because MB is finished with adapting the grill and other specs to offer it as standard (raising the MSRP) or as a new Option. Whether this will occur for the '08 year or '09 year is anybodies guess.

Distronic Plus is a dream at this point but could make it into the GL sometime in the future I guess.

Home Depot Version
My handy husband decided to install the "Home Depot" version of Distronic on my GL. Here it is shown in gold color, but is also available in chrome & black

LOL! And here I thought it was for the GL550 to replicate- (MB was aiming for a kinda manly SUV after all)...

Can anyone confirm if this is a typo on the mbusa website

it implies that Distronic PLUS is available on the 2008 ML63

This is a "Typo".
Distronic Plus is not available on any M-B SUV...anywhere.

Assuming that the radiator support is correct for DTR then it should be OK.
Hello i am installing a dtr on my w164 2007, but the ESP cant see the dtr. The dealer told me that he cant conect them. How can i know if the problem is about ESP or about códing ESP?
