Cargo Carrier

Does anyone have one of MB's cargo carriers for their GL? I purchased the small one and had it painted Verde Brook to match the vehicle. The dealer installed it this week and it looks great. But, I just drove the vehicle for the first time since the install and the whistling sound is unbearable.

I just can't imagine that this is right. Does anyone else experience the same noise? All I know is that there is no way that I'll be able to put up with the sound.

you need to put a fairing in the front of it to help with the noise.

I wasn't sure either. Check out these definitions, and now I really do know what it is!

Here's a picture of a fairing.

They're not compatible with a roof box installation.

I have also been looking to reduce the noise but have not found one. At present i just volume up with my sound system. If anybody has a fix let us know.
