Adding Keyless Go?

I was installing the Bluetooth module for my father-in-law in his S550 and he showed me how the keyless start button just pops out to reveal the standard keyhole in which the key can be used to start the car the old way.

Can Keyless Go be added to the GL by purchasing one of these 'Start' buttons? Wondering if all the guts are in the vehicle to enable the keyless entry, push-button start, etc.

I didn't get the keyless option, but if it can be added at some point I may look at it.

Thanks,
Voy

not that simple. you need to add the sensors that are found in each of the door handles

I have a sneaking suspicion the sensors are already in there. Am I wrong about that?

i thought the same thing. I know the liftgate buttons wouldn't be there (the lock next to the lift button), but who knows..

looks to me the button just kinda twists the key when you push it.

get a button from another car.

At first my wife didn’t want the keyless go option but I prevailed and added it to her order. It has now become one of her favorite features of this marvelous feature packed vehicle.

My Sierra Denali has remote start. If I had my choice between the two I think I would take the keyless go. I use the remote start infrequently (but it is a handy feature to pre-cool your vehicle in the summer and pre-warm and turn on the heated seats in the winter) but the keyless go is used every time you use the vehicle.

While I agree that the keyless go is nice, having the key in my pocket or hitting the remote door unlock is not a make or break deal for me. I can see where it would be more appreciated by women from a security standpoint. I have to say that the remote start is one of the best options I have ever had on any vehicle. I use it at least 2 or 3 times a day on my Silverado. Being a diesel, it is an absolute necessity that it be allowed to warm up at first start every day. I simply walk over to the window and start the vehicle, finish up, get a cup, and it's ready to rock. This, not to mention that when you live in a warm climate, you start it as soon as withing range and it's down to at least 100 by the time you get to the car.

Funny thing is, I have rented cars 7 or 8 times this year in my travels, choosing a Chevy for familiarity reasons (controls the same), and they have all had the remote start. This includes their more basic models like Impalas.
