Illuminated door sills

Does anyone have them? What do you think?

My off the lot 550 didn't have them and I wanted them!

Can you add them as an aftermarket accessory?

Your dealer can add them as an aftermarket accessory. Mine were $550 (isn't that number nice?) with labor, installed by the dealer.

They were on my "Had to Have" List. It's the main reason I had to order. I could find a unit in stock with them.

The first time I saw them, I absolutely loved them. And agree with NJ that they are absolutely useless However, I couldn't find one with them on when I bought.

Stumble - you had them added after you got the truck for $550? I was quoted close to 2K due to high labor.

I retract the $550. Guess I have that # on my brain!

I pulled my invoice out and they were actually $597 including labor and the labor portion was only $150 of the total amount.

You didn't order them though? I know factory price is like 500 something too.

I didn't order them with the car.

This crazy forum made me do it. I just had to have them and by the time I made the decision, my order was locked down. So, the dealer ordered the parts and installed them when I picked up the vehicle.

Just compare the surface area of a Harley to surface area of a GL and you will see that GL has a lot more room for useless accessories. So it's really no battle at all

Update:

my dealer quoted $430 for the parts.....

and 5 hours for installation!

I really want them, but for $1,000 I think I'm going to have to pass.

boo hoo.

That’s only $450 more than if you had ordered them from the factory…does that sound better?

That's insane!!! There is no way it takes 5 hours to install them.

Nice to see that your parts price was less than mine. I guess you dealer just likes to rip off folks on the labor. Remember, my labor charge was only $150.

Keep us posted, Chicky. All the dealers I have talked to here in SoCal also want 3 or 4 hours of labor to install. That is why I was so surprised at Brian's cost.

I was wondering how much Westminster MB had to do with this. Maybe me and Chicky can drive to Denver and get our sills put on there. Whaddya think?

I'll call Greg and ask him to check with his Service Mgr and quote two Illuminated Entires + Labor for some of my personal friends and see what he can do...

Remember it's winter and weather could be a factor in getting to or leaving Denver. Of course Stumblefoot would put you up for a week or two if you got snowed in...
