First error message on console

Last Wednesday I got the message "Locking System Inactive" on my ORP equipped GL. A little icon of the differentials shows up as well, and the light on the differential control knob was off.
Being as it was the long holiday weekend, and the vehicle seemed to be working fine, I ignored it. The message came up every time I started ever since.

So, I'm all ready to call & schedule service. I go out to the vehicle to get my mileage, and the exact wording of the message. Turn on key. No message. Start engine. No message. Look down at control knob, and the light is back on.

Pretty weird.

I left my service contact a voice mail, waiting on a return call now. I guess this is a fairly unusual thing, since there don't seem to be many ORP package here in the states.
Has anyone else here had this issue?

I have the ORP and have not, as yet, had that message...........I have had several vehicles in the past with complex electronic drivetrain control systems ( most recently a Jeep Grand Cherokee ) and have occasionally received similar kinds of messages that appear and then "go away." In the electronic world there only needs to be some small random "misalignment" of parameters and the computer says "no." Once whatever it is resets....boom, everything is fine. I would try the two locking positions to be sure they are in fact working......if they engage, your fine. If not, and/or the message comes back frequently, then you truly have a problem for the techs. to diagnose.
