MBUSA Christmas Gift!
Do you guys get Christmas gifts from Mercedes? (Actually I'm making an assumption here that it's for Christmas.) I got a knock on my door today and thinking it was my undelivered mail from when I was in London I was surprised to find a package outside the door. The contents are as follows; (Please excuse the out-of-focus shot my brand-new Sony camera took!)

I wonder if every card matches the owner's vehicle color.
BTW, i would've taken the towel over the wallet.

When my dad got the S550 he got a wallet and the card too. I believe the card had a silver S550 which is the same one he has. So maybe they do send the color of your car on it.

I don't think I'll get a gift, especially not from the dealer, since I just bought an M5 instead of the E63 they wanted me to take. Maybe I'll get switches and ashes!
BTW, we chose the M5 largely because we have a long relationship with the dealer and because BMW included four years maintenance and four years of BMW Assist (the BMW version of Tele Aid). Only AFTER I told them we were going with the M5 did the MB dealer say they would have matched with maintenance and four years of Tele Aid...This might have made enough of a difference to swing the deal to MB from BMW. Shows how dealers ought to put their best offer out early rather than waiting.

When I asked my dealer to "throw-in" a set of all season floor mats before completing the deal, he said OK and said the dealership gives out a gift to new buyers and that would be mine. After I finished the paperwork with the business mgr., my salesman hands me a $50 gift certificate to their Parts Dept. (I guess their usual customary gift) in another buyers name, saying it would be honored by the Parts Dept., regardless of name. The other buyer declined it, as he apparently lives out of state and would not be able to use it. Two weeks after I took delivery of my vehicle, I receive another $50 gift certificate in the mail, made out in my name. Sometimes, I don't think the left hand knows what the right hand is doing at that dealership, but hey, I'm not complaining.......................yet.

Why, yay-us, Ah am one of the boys of the Confederacy, and by awl that's holy, Ah am sure enough glad Ah am. Thank you for taking notice. Don't want any part of that 'old snow and ice.
And just whut do you all poor folks from the nether sections of this big 'ole land get from Santa when ya'll have been bad?
That's the best southern drawl I can do, having been grossly abused to rid myself of an accent in the course of getting four college degrees...

I too received the wallet and blanket, but that was a while ago. My dealer always send an orchid plant after a purchase. They're still blooming.

Sounds like that dealer and the jewelry store have a real racket going on. That must have been a hard lesson to learn that won't soon be repeated.
