GL320cdi
side steps/side boards

Hi everyone - pick up a GL320 this week..........wooohoooo. Xenons, leather, sunroof, satnav, folding mirrors.........
It didnt come with side steps from factory, and I thought I would just buy them as an option to be installed prior to me picking it up - but Mercedes want $3500 (Aust) to fit them (the flat style ones with the small round rubber non-slip pads). If the car had them fitted from factory they were only $900 (Aust) !!!

Also I thought I could just upgrade to the 20" wheels (as per price stated in sales brochure) but found the same - if you didnt order the car with them - you pay an absolute fortune to get them afterwards.

Is there anywhere I can get them (side steps and wheels) cheaper than direct from the dealer ??

I prefer the flat side steps to the round bar type.

Here is a link for an online store with the tubular ones. These folks only have OEM parts listed for the GL. They may be able to get the running boards for you. http://mercedes.dealerfit.com/store/

Yea..the same thing happened to me, I wanted the Running boards installed for delivery of the car but being that it wasn't ordered with it from the factory they were going to charge $1200-1500 instead of $510 listed on MBUSA

Side Steps

I found them at Mercedes Parts People for $925.
Please let us know if you find them for less.
Also if you install them yourself, please post some details about the process, thanks!

I just had them installed at the dealer for $1600.00 which is not bad as they add so much to the vehicle.
