$3.76 in NY

Not sure exactly but I think I remember seeing $3.76 on the corner.

I remember when I first got my ML (last December) the Diesel was cheaper than High Test, and I was thinking...

I should have gotten the CDI.

Now it's way more....

Wazup wit dat

$3.29 everywhere in Chattanooga. About ten cents less just south of the border in Georgia or north in the county. Not worth the ride to save ten cents a gallon.

BTW, remember that the CDI is $2500 less than the gas model (450), which makes the diesel look even better.

when I bought in august, the CDI was the same MSRP as the 450, with the same options. If its cheaper now, thats really a deal. $2500 is 16,800 miles in free fuel!!

I noticed today driving past a gas station that diesel was $3.69. I've been going to Sam's Club and paying $3.30 for 92 octane.

Web prices

http://gasprices.mapquest.com

Try this web site from mapquest. Put you zip in and a list of pricing and map of locations comes up. (all sorts of different fuel prices).

Great for planning a trip.

I filled up in Delray Fl last Saturday $3.32. Noticed the price of gas jumped 5 cents over night didn't get a look at deisel price. The web site is showing $3.43 (it's walmart so i can take another 3 cents off)

Will have to check out the price on the way home to see how close it comes!!!

I don't live in the woods, but ... according to www.phoenixgasprices.com it ranges from $3.17 (Valero on the soutwest side of town, 51st Ave & Baseline) to $3.84 (Yikes! Big Tiger Fuels at I-17 and 7th Street! Wow!) Closer to me (Scottsdale only), it's between $3.29/$3.49.

I should do a cost analysis to see if it's worth driving all the way to the Valero (not that I prefer giving cash to the folks from Venezuela) to save 12¢ a gallon.

Here in East Texas, I paid $3.18 the other day. Most places seem to run between $3.29 to $3.35. Oh for the days when I could just stick the pump in the ground for a fill-up .

Someone told me diesel gas price was seasonal and in the winter months diesel prices go up, and then in spring/summer months it would go down...I was told this was due to demand in the winter months for heating fuel and other things that made the demand go higher.

When I placed my order for my GL320 the cost per gallon for diesel was less than regular grade unleaded; now a bit more than premium as we have all noticed...

Anyone who has driven diesel for quite some time - does the price go down in spring / summer based on the info above? Wondering...Thanks...

crazy...

I would be in the Diesel already if it were above regular and below premium. However, at appx 10% over premium, i have a hard time cost justifying going with diesel.

There is not that much seperation here, more like 3-5%. Even at 10%, compared to 40 - 50% better mileage, it's still a huge savings.

calculations...

I had put together a spreadsheet, basing gas pricing as found here in NJ where diesel has been appx 10% more than premium (3.10-premium, 3.40-diesel)

If i drive 20K / year, and the GL450 gives me an avg of 17mpg and the GL320 gives me an avg of 22mpg, the GL320 will save me appx 550.00 / year in fuel....

As i've calculated, the total fuel cost for the GL450 is $3647.00/yr vs. GL320 at $ 3090.00/yr.

I guess my big assumption is the avg mpg's i'm using....

That's a pretty good assessment. I think you may be a little on the high mpg side of the 450 and the low side of the 320. Although 22 mpg is about what my 320 is getting, but others are consistently reporting 25 with their 320's. I think 25 vs 17 would be more apples to apples.
